Default Lvl 52 ranger gear question

So for some back story, I used a Woodman's Staff from lvl 30 to 50 and it was a glorious weapon. Around 50, I started learning how the primary 1 handed weapon gets stronger than most 2 handers rangers are able to wield. From my understanding, the primary weapon gets a slight increase in damage output so the quicker the weapon, typically the better if they average roughly the same dps. I am currently in the market for a main weapon (offhand is skyfury scimitar 13/23) and wanted to know which was better:

Crafted Velium Warsword- 10/18

-OR-

Winter's Fury- 13/23

A possible third option is the exquisite velium warsword which is 12/21 but that adds more money to the equation.

Would love any feedback, thanks!

Theres probaby some spreadsheet somewhere that exists to compare this (I know theres one for monk weapons).

But given that the actual ratio of the two is so similar, probably the warsword.

Been scouring p99 wiki to confirm that rangers get a damage bonus, but I cannot find anything. So I assume rangers get it like everyone else.

When playing a monk its always fastest weapon in primary and best ratio in the off hand.

The reasoning is that is you land a hit and your damage bonus is 5 you will always at minimum land 5dmg + what ever your weapon's natural hit would be.

so faster = more swings and better use of the damage bonus.

hope this helps!

damage bonus is...
28 = +1
31 = +2
34 = +3
37 = +4
40 = +5
43 = +6
46 = +7
49 = +8
52 = +9
55 = +10
58+ = +11

so at level 52 you have +9dmg on PRIMARY weapons.

Crafted Velium Warsword would be 10x2, +9, or 29/18 (ratio 1.611)
Winter's Fury would be 13x2, +9. or 35/23 (ratio 1.522)

Outside of Riposte and Damage Shield concerns, a low delay weapon is usually better on PRIMARY, and for SECONDARY you don't get the damage bonus to the best flat dmg(x2)/delay ratio weapon is best.

I thought the damage bonus was just damage on hit not added to the weapon calculation?

i.e (12x2)+9

Network for a Swiftwind as offhand. VSR double drops that component, so basically track and trigger the mob in exchange for trading the duplicate component to the raidforce that helps kill your VSR.

This sounds promising. This is my highest character and I didn't do too much late game content when I first played the game so i'll have to look into what this all means. That weapon would bring me much joy though.

I've noticed you posting a lot of bad info and this is yet another example (another is you saying that there's a damage cap of 10 which is lifted at level 10). The damage bonus is not added to weapon damage to give damage/delay. It's a simple addition of damage after your swing's damage has been calculated. So if you were going to hit for 30 and you had a 10 damage bonus you'd hit for 40. It's that simple. You don't add the bonus damage onto the weapon's base damage to get a new damage/delay.

correct at 60 its (2x dmg)+11/delay. somewhere on the forums cecily already posted like some common weapons at 60 to help folks on what to chose, suprisingly jade mace was really good for the price.
