Gear Priority? Lute of the Howler or Singing Steel?
Current Gear:
https://wiki.project1999.com/Magelo_Blue:Cenwood https://wiki.project1999.com/Lute_of_the_Howler I love Illusion items, they are like my fave thing, already blew cash on a neriad shawl before. It's also a better lute than my lute. The effect is almost as good as the 45 songs haste and I only plan on getting the char to 52 tops, so it frees up a song slot for something else that I don't need to waste on "spell haste". But for 10k I could get all of the following. I like clickies a lot too, The arms clicky is useless but direct ac upgrade, the rest seem pretty cool. https://wiki.project1999.com/Singing_Steel_Bracer https://wiki.project1999.com/Singing_Steel_Boots https://wiki.project1999.com/Singing_Steel_Vambraces https://wiki.project1999.com/Singing_Steel_Helm Thinking about getting maybe the boots and bracer before the lute... What do y'all think?

The helm is very important, for a free Eye of Zomm. Very useful for pulling, eating harm touches, and hammering off of.

By the time I'm 46 if I want to raid and need to do those things I'll probably have the money at that point. The helm is a gear upgrade though... but it's more expensive than the rest...

Similar to other CC classes, I'm finding that HP gear provides the greatest benefit, most of which already has AC equal to or better than Singing Steel. Considering pre-52 groups will often want Bards to pull and/or tank on top of CCing, HP should provide the most across all of those roles.
What's great about Lute of the Howler is, it allows for a shield to be equipped which increases overall survivability with raw/regular stats, resists, and shield AC. Swapping out can be more annoying, unless Drum of the Beast, but I've rarely needed to swap when grouped. Even when pulling/running from a train in outdoor zones, where selos runspeed can be applied, using drum for the acceleration boost just doesn't seem all that necessary. I would go with the lute personally. The buff itself is great, lasts long, and serves as added junk in buff window to help against dispels. Plus, werewolf form is one of those illusions that can startle low level characters at night from a distance, especially those with night blindness.

Unless you pull a lot for groups I'd go for the werewolf lute first because why not. Otherwise get the zomm clicky.

The helm is the only useful clicky on Singing Steel. Lute is more useful and way more fun to be a werewolf

Bracer is also nice if you PL alts and don't have a Ring 10, Regal Band of Bathezid, etc. Still, the lute is the most vital piece listed, by far, especially before hammering is in play.
