Haven't played in about 20 years
Hi all,
I'm new to P99, what a cool project. I played EQ back when it first came out, up through Kunark and Velious. I don't think I've played in almost 20 years. My main character was Nergalosiv, a level 60 halfling rogue. "Nerg" is a moniker that stuck. I remember two of my other toons were Sali Forth, and Aybabtu Wa'tusay (or something like that). I don't remember which PvE server we were on, maybe Cazic-Thule. Our guild was the <Veeshan Guard>. Anyway, in a recent fit of nostalgia, I installed the free-to-play version on Steam. I've long since lost track of whatever CD keys or credentials I had, so I don't hold any hope of trying to recover them. I think it was on my first or second search for recipes and skills online that I found Project 1999. Needless to say, I was intrigued. I'm here now, I've got P99 up and running. What a difference from the latest release over on Steam. *This* is the EQ I remember. The official version today makes it so easy to level up through the tutorial, it felt like cheating. I soloed my way through the tutorial and walked up to my rogue's guild master in Crescent Reach as a wet-behind-the-ears level 12 rogue with 150+pp in my pocket. And that was before really "doing" anything. Now that I'm here, I don't think I'll go back. This original version maybe isn't as polished as the modern release, but this is what I remembered and cherished. My new character (playing on Green) is a level 1 halfling rogue named Nergalos. Maybe we'll run into each other as I'm stumbling around Rivervale now and then. Cheers, ~Nerg | ||
