Can't believe I'm saying this but why even bother with a pet if you don't have like a dog house for it. I usually try to repurpose the houses near the inns in east commonlands when I'm around. There can't be a true purpose otherwise, but I would probably just find like a level 51 player or something and have them tell you what you got with a trust right click. /emote dance means you have to cast a pet again and /emote kiss means you got the high level one just a suggestion for a code to use.

How can you tell what lvl your pet is when you hit 60? It always seems to con green.

You can't ... by conning it yourself. But you can have someone lower con it, or you can watch the pet's max hit and see if it hits for 52 (http://wiki.project1999.com/Shaman#Pet_Information).

Does lvl55 pet really has variance in levels? I can't remember when I had a pet hitting for other than 52 max damage...
