Default A Raid primer

Hi all

I am very new to high level eq and raiding - I only ever got a cleric to 39 on live and am coming up to the 50s here on p99 with a Wizard.

I was just wondering if there are any raid guides or raid primers around? Just looking for some information on some key mobs, what do to , where they are etc

Any help would be appreciated! looking forward to raiding!

in the end just try and envision that raiding on live was nothing like it is here on p99. Live was much more fun raiding then here.

I am sure everyone has their own opinions on "fun". But for me personally, there is no challenge in the mob itself. On live, a guild would muster its forces for say, Trak, and would make an attempt to take him down, wipe, try again ect... Many raid groups consisted of level 51-50's, and few had top notch gear. It was a challenge and a triumph to take out Trak. If you wiped twice, chances are another guild would move in. Sometimes dragons were left up for days, and people would form "pickup" raids independent of guilds for a chance at loot and glory.

Here, with everyone geared and mostly 60's in the fight, the challenge isnt the mob, its the other guilds. People squabble, become petty etc...

Raiding here (blue) is a matter of rules, not fun.

Some items to look into if you want more info:

Policy and rotation:

GM comments on rules:

The existence of the above is proof enough that the end game is packed and a bit of a cluster. However if you would like more details, visit the raid forum and have a look around. There is a lot of arguing, but also a lot of cooperation between guilds going on. Eagerly awaiting where the raid scene will end up come Velious.

That said, get yourself into a guild of your choice and fight for that guild. It can be fun, there is just a lot of frustration to be had around the table.
