Default Monk, how do you not choose iksar?

I saw some people arguing in OOC and told them to take it to the forums. Here you go.

Exp penalty, 1 extra delay on fists, and depending on how you feel about it, the tail is a positive or a negative.

Iksar is the undeniable min/max choice, and it's true they hold every advantage once the monk hits 60. They have more ac. They have more regen. They have worse bare fist ratio ... but nobody ever uses bare fists so it doesn't matter.

Knowing all that ... I still made a human monk. Why a human monk?

-Looks better (subjective, but /shrug)
-I like it better
-levels 20% faster

Most of all? I did it because I wanted a human monk - everyone and their mother plays an iksar monk.

And don't forget.
The Epic human monk Epic dps is slightly higher than the Iksar epic dps.

The only thing I regret about my iksar monk is that I wasn't able to do the sash and headband quests. Of course, you can just buy them. Or get a group together and kill Brother Qwinn, skipping the sash and headband quests altogether.

Come to think of it, I have no regrets rolling iksar.

The funny thing, though, is that there are a lot of human monks around. At *least* 1/3. Maybe even 40%. The monk class is so overpowered that even with a weak race it's quite good.

This. For me at least it's to re-live the nostalgia of my char back in '99. I've always played a human monk with the same name (even during the TLP servers)
