IS it possible to select a race/class combo that is so bad it will make everything you do twice as difficult?

All this said, nothing brings character to your character like existing with a permanent handicap ... I loved my erudite prexus paladin and having a use for light sources made the game more fun rather than less

Any Warrior. If I had to pick a race it'd be Human due to the night blindness.

As a warrior I've died alot, on purpose, because that's just what was intended for the class. I like to compare the playstyle to balancing on the edge of a knife because you are entirely reliant upon RNG for aggro and then your healer's mana bar. By far the hardest class to play. Now as for which race? I would say it depends on a lot of factors. Iksar early game are the most difficult. Stats are fairly weak, shit options for gear, and EVERYTHING hates you. And as I mentioned earlier, you are entirely reliant on others during most encounters, so if said half-elf ranger doesn't like your scales you're tucking tail and heading to the nearest zoneline granted you are able to resist his snare. Late game Kunark Iksar also are pretty shit, still no gear, nothing special to speak of aside from being the only tail-based playable character. Velious brings Iksar on par with Ogres in raid situations and are the best group based tank in the game due to their higher base AC and innate Fungi tunic regeneration. TLDR; If we're talking end game, I would definitely say the worst race/class combo is most definitely Human ranger of Mithaniel Marr.

I have an "evil" Erudite Cleric on TLP and I wish I had been a Gnome. For a class that has no invis, being able to see through walls makes a big difference. Especially on TLP, where mob root is a lot more fatal. So many times our puller died because he got rooted and I have no idea where he is since I can't see through walls.

Iksar Shadowknights are absolutely awful. I can't think of a single good reason to play one.
