Default Shaman Pet Questions

Was just wondering about the shaman pet's ability to equip items

so far whenever i give him weapons he just eats them, but i remember that i used to give my lowbie shaman pets weapons with procs and such but dont remember which era eq that was (I've had a half dozen or so 60+)

and then if they cant equip weapons, can they still equip armor?

thanks

I don't feed my pet anything, weapons or armor. Just buffs and your good to go.

On P1999 they used to accept weapons, but it was nerfed recently (and correctly, since that ability was a by-product of the introduction of the beastlord class and their pets after Luclin). No idea if that applies to armor - would need to be tested.

At least you don't have to worry about carrying around rusty weapons now, and you're pet will not out-dps you letting you get full xp for kills also.

I'm not so sure about this. I feel like it's necessary to hit the mob with a dot to do more DPS than the pet, even if the pet isn't holding weapons.
