Game Mechanics: Rogue Assassinate Not Giving Faction

I've used the rogue level 60 ability Assassinate on a variety of mobs that give faction. When assassinated no faction is given. When these same mobs are killed without assassinate they give faction like normal. Seems to me like they should give faction no matter how they die.

Its prolly an agro issue, if you insta gank a mob in 1 hit ,you never land on the hate list, which is what determines the faction hit.

At first I thought the same, so I tried the following: sit down in front of an orc pawn in east commonlands until it attacks, then kill it. If you kill it with a single hit there was no faction hit even when you're aggro.

Try throwing and doing a point of damage first, and then try to assasinate the mob. Post results, that would clear it up 100% as far as agro is concerned.

Same thing was happening to me with just simple Backstab. Go to Butcherblock and kill a goblin whelp with one-shot--no faction.

Assuming you can still loot the corpse or does it vanish in seconds?

The destroy line of spells for Wizard, Mage, and necro all insta kill mobs but give no faction and leave no coprse. Seems like there is so problem with assasinate and backstab following some of these rules, when it shouldnt.

Pending update:
- Assassinate will generate faction hits.
- Killing NPC with single melee attack will generate faction hits.

Backstab was working fine for me.
