Default Blue Server Class Needs?

Have just purchased EQ: Titanium from Ebay and now awaiting the shipping [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Then its time to experience the wonder you have all so thoughtfully rekindled. tyty

Question:
Are there any particular class needs (i.e. need more of those classes) for levels 1-40? 41-60?

Similarly, are any classes too abundant (same brackets of 1-40 and 41-60)?

I have several in mind, but the needs of the masses may help sway that final decision. Thanks for your help [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

First off return that crap and go download it. You paid for a copy of it already 14 years ago its legal to download a backup copy of it. Secondly in the end you will play what you like to play even if its not a needed class. the trinity of warrior/cleric/enchanter is always a welcomed class to a group but nothing i would say is needed. Tons or rogues, monks, druids. Welcome back to EQ but do it on the cheap [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Ouch! See if you can cancel that purchase, there are other methods of acquiring Titanium. Play in minutes, not days!

If you play any of the trinity (tank, cleric, enchanter), then you will be wanted. Most importantly though, learn your class, play well, get out there make friends, and don't be afraid to start your own groups.

There are lots of druids and shamans. One because of their utility, the other because of being awesome at soloing and grouping and raiding. Also a lot of monks because they are awesome too.

I value the input thus far, and so quickly. Worry not, all -- I will surely play a class I enjoy. As I enjoy and am experienced in several I simply wish to tailor that to fit the server class needs. Everybody wins.

Yeah, didn't like shelling out more $$$ but after many hours of trying to find a reliable downloading site that didn't re-write my system files and didn't cause player headaches to get running -- I went with the simple (albeit more time-consuming) route of buying the disks. Can't be undone, and since I have waited 10+ years, I can certainly wait another few days [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Disclaimer: I'm writing this from the perspective of someone coming in completely new and sticking to conventional class paradigms.

If you want to group:
SK/Pal if you want to tank
Cleric if you want to heal
Shaman / Enc / Bard if you want to buff/debuff
Monk / Rogue if you want to DD

If you want to group but have the option to solo:
Shaman
Enchanter
Shadowknight
Monk (depending on how well you can gear up though)

If you want to solo:
Necro
Shaman
Druid
Mage
Enchanter
Monk
Wizard (great choice if you plan to spend 80% of your logged in time afk, cause you'll have plenty of time to do it while medding)

If you want to be an asshole while soloing:
Bard

If you want to be laughed at:
Ranger

Note: I personally think Rangers can be a great asset to a group but require a level of skill and outside of the box thinking beyond the capabilities of most people. You'll also notice I don't put warrior on the list simply because they'll have the most difficulty performing their class role without some outside help.

This handy little website might help you narrow things down. You can see a breakdown of the class distributions and hunt around and see those same distributions within a specific level and the like.
