Default Crashing

I bought a low-end laptop on eBay to play EQ. It is running Windows 7.

Lenovo ThinkPad X61 12" Intel C2D 4 GB RAM 160 GB HDD Win 7 WiFi Laptop

I have it loaded and it works...sometimes. It will crash while loading sometimes. I don't have an idea what might be wrong other than non-essential background apps sucking resources.

Not sure. Any ideas? Btw, I am not tech savvy.

Thank you.

need more details

- is there an error when it crashes?
- are you running antivirus? have you added EQ to the whitelist?
- what are you doing when it crashes? what are you doing when it doesn't crash?
- are there other programs running when it crashes? if you close everything then run EQ, does it work?

also just try running it with wineq2 because that fixes 90% of problems on modern pcs

Sometimes it actually boots up and will stay on for a bit. Sometimes I will try to load it and I get the repatch error. I just noticed a low memory notification on the bottom right, but I don't have anything else running that I have loaded myself. What is a whitelist? When it crashes while I am logged, on... I was rearranging the UI.

How do I run it with wineq2?

Did you format it when you bought it? Sounds like theres some stuff in the background pre loaded...
