Default Question about Damage Dealt

I am an Ogre Warrior with 2 x Lamentation. I just dinged 20 and I have noticed that my max hit is 46 with or without any gear on. My gear contributes +50 str but it does not seem like it is making an impact on how much damage I deal. I thought the damage cap was lifted at 20. Any insight would be appreciated [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Hitting for 46 naked with a dmg 9 weap at lvl 20? I'm impressed [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
Damage cap does lift at lvl 20 but you're unlikely to notice it with a dmg 9 weap. If you had swung a Weighted Axe at lvl 19 and at lvl 20, you'd know the difference, trust me x)

Did you throw your starting stats into STR?

Ya I'd agree that's why.

I thought there are two pretty hard damage caps at 10 and 20, but that there is still kind of a soft cap on damage from 20-30 that raises a little bit each level until you hit 30.

When I leveled an ogre shaman and had ~200 str and a granite face grinder, it worked like this.

^ I don't think shamans should have the same damage caps as warriors, or hybrids the same as warriors for now..

I'm trying to dig up some old screenies of Babumten and Ennart.

Babumten was one of the early pioneers of maining a 2hb on his shaman, and certainly kept himself fully buffed. Seeing Lime's shaman wrecking faces for 130 damage with a gator smash in classic made no sense (this should have be well before damage bonus based on delay comes in..).

from 20-29, damage cap is 58ish. You'll sometimes break the cap just like levels 1-19, but not often.

46 with a 9 dmg 1her is actually really good for a lvl 20 with your low weapon skills. It will go up as you level, no worries.
