Default Why not just make multiquest components tradable?

So...

Given the amount of MQing that goes around, especially for bits of epics, why are the parts even "no-drop"? It seems like such an annoying relic that doesn't really work any differently in the end, if you can just do the turn ins using multiquest.

Personally, I know I'll never get my shaman's tear from Fear, but since all the big guilds loot them and hoard 'em, I'd rather just be able to buy it in EC rather than having to pay someone else to follow me to do turnins. Same thing with Chardok metal pipes, I've got a few floating around, and tbh I'm not even sure what to do with them.

It seems like such a strange middle-ground, personally I'd rather see the items be tradable or epic quests not MQable.

Something something not classic.

Making them tradeable would just reinforce the poopsockery and make quest items even more camped than they already are.

Basically what was posted above. Because it's not classic.

Yeah that makes sense. Although, I was pretty young when EQ was first out, I don't remember there being any MQable epics... And on the roleplay servers, everything was tradable. I saw people selling epics.

MQ'ing happened all the time on live. The difference is on p99 everyone knows pretty much everything about this game since it is so old. Things happen faster, items are more farmed, etc. Btw, the shaman epic is totally acquirable for any fledgling raiding guild. Join one once you're high enough level and I'm sure you'd find plenty of people willing to help you with the tear. Plenty of casual guilds pursue those golems and the more hardcore guilds pretty much pass them up these days(I think?)

Right...I guess that makes sense, the mechanics are technically classic, but not really functioning the way they did back then - so it doesn't seem quite as classic.

Because there are so many things in real life you can't hand to other people. You either have to keep them forever or destroy them. Obviously.

Huh; I never played on a RP server, didn't realize everything was tradable... as appealing as that sounds; I imagine it wouldn't do this economy any good.. as it would further mromote the rich staying rich and the poor staying poor.

Kinda wish I gave the old RP server(s) it a shot now.. ive seen/done some light RP in EQ and it was fun...
