Game Mechanics: z axis problems

Or maybe its Y axis or X axis...not sure. But anyways, I am unable to cast spells on mobs slightly lower in altitude than myself. This is a real PITA when I have DMF up as it gives me a slight height advantage making it impossible to cast spells on mobs.

z axis casting is kind of screwed right now, made a post when I noticed this with my wiz if they are even a little above/below you there is no cast message no fail nothing just a loss of mana.
