Miscellaneous: Chardok Named Drop %

After killing 1000+ named across a few players - less than approx 20 times have our group seen "no item dropped".

Almost all named have 3 (common, uncommon, rare) or 4 (common, uncommon, rare, ultra); or some variation of perceived drop %'s.

The NPC's we have seen "drop no item" are all NPC's that have had items patched/fixed/adjusted.

Foreman Mirt`akk - Vial of roiling gas adjusted
Grand Lorekeeper Kino Shai`din - SWC removed from drop/cloak adjusted
Grave Master Zo`lun - BST arms removed/hammer made lootable
Arch Inspector Nibi`zi - Earring adjusted


On multiple occasions these NPCs have had no item dropped on kill. Should the % breakdown on the multiple drops a NPC has ever result in "NO ITEM"? I can find no evidence in era that sometimes Named NPCs in Chardok did not drop an item.

Also, 'https://wiki.project1999.com/Conglaciation_of_Bone' does not yet appear to be dropping and should be dropping, as all other updated spells are in game.


Lastly, Wraith of Di'zok Hero has no itemization. This may be correct, however there are few (if any?) comments/notations regarding this npc pre 2002. Perhaps he was added later for one of those "unfinished kunark quests"

I agree there's something wonky there, I think you've almost certainly identified the problem.

However, I *think* I may remember grand lorekeeper occasionally dropping nothing even when he had swc. very vague recollection tho.

This is additional evidence that loot adjusted mobs may be bugged to have a artificially higher "no item" %.

Most recent patch should have added Writ of Dizok to this NPC - previously in 50+ kills he was potion/cloak every kill, now after patch multiple instances of "no item".

bump this is still an issue with constant empty corpse named NPCs

I dont believe theres any evidence that shows these mobs didnt at least drop a 'common' loot each time as normal Everquest named tend to.

It seems however as things were tinkered to remove previously dropping items, it may have bugged the NPCs to not drop any loot at all very frequently. If a Dev could take a quick glance here and make sure things are as they should would be wonderful.

The Arch Inspector Nibi`zi is particularly bad killed him 40+ times and not seen a revamped earring, when it seems that his "rare" item would be the CLR hammer.

The above are the magelo loot tables for these mobs that are dropping no loot on P99.

They seem fairly healthy in terms of item drop % that it would be very unlikely Chardok named spawns operate independently for how rare spawn loot in EQ works. It is very uncommon that any named let alone special named in a dungeon that has regularly timed PH would have no loot especially when their loot tables seemingly are designed to provide the chance at common loot, uncommon rare or ultra rare loot.

Currently Arch Inspector and several other names are providing no loot corpses rather frequently. We are not talking about 1 empty corpse every 10 kills or so no this mob is more likely to have 0 loot on the corpse than an item currently.

If these particular mobs could have their item drop % examined there is likely a bug blocking drops from appearing and thusly some items are rarer than they actually should be.
