Is there any class that would actually stand a chance at battling these lvl 20 / 30 ish twinks? Roll a cleric and at least you won't die to them?

No. That's why people make twinks in the first place. They don't want to compete, they just want to win. And if you do beat them, they plug.

The best way to avoid twinks is avoid popular leveling places, gain guard faction, and get good with your class.
