Default Character refuses to swing after first hit.

I've been getting this bug all day on my paladin that causes him to just stand there like an idiot without swinging even though auto attack is on. Bashes work, I can cast, and I can get hit, but only the first swing after zoning hits anything.

I tried dropping target and retargeting (clicking, tabbing, and typing), zoning, relogging, and different uis. Not sure what is causing the issue but it basically means I can't really play that character. Was happening this morning then I logged off for a while to play something else and when I came back it was still an issue.

Has anyone else encountered this? How did you fix it?

Sometimes I end up in a situation where I need to Esc to cancel target, retarget, and autoattack to hit the mob. I'm not sure exactly when this happens, but there must be a pattern...

I can keep attacking if i turn off attack, esc to cancel, retarget, and turn attack back on, but I have to do it after every single swing.

Quick update: my paladin doesn’t auto attack and is now just a shitty cleric.

I too seem to have the same problem of hitting the mob once then my character stops swinging. It's rather frustrating because I can't seem to reproduce it on command but it keeps happening from time to time.

This is my solution to the problem aswell.

this randomly happens to me too. Fix is turning attack off, taking both weps off and putting back on and the esc out of target, retarget, auto attack back on

It was at this point I decided to no longer be kind to the casuals as they have extreme short term memory. They did this to themselves, unfortunately.
