My dude is getting close to level 50 and I've been getting random messages from people I don't even know asking if I want to join they guild. And I'm like, scared I'll end up joining a guild that sucks, or a guild that has a terrible reputation and then everyone ends up hating me.

I seriously don't know the drama surrounding the guilds on Blue.

I used to know all the drama with guilds on Green before Kunark launched. I remember joining Venerate and it being one of the worst online gaming experiences I've ever had in my entire life. I was randomly thinking about it this morning, how this dude was cursing me out 2 hours after I joined because they demanded I come to a raid that I wasn't even aware of because ... I just joined the guild. I didn't even want to go because I just got the camp in Guk where the dude drops the SMR, and I really didn't want to abandon it to go on a PoF raid (let's keep it real, no Cleric armor drops in PoF really).

So I get there, and this dude demands I give him a symbol and I just explain to him that I don't have any peridots, and he calls me a liar and then starts raging at me about how I've known about this raid for months now and how I should have been prepared and then he calls me a liar etc.

Like I've never had someone talk to me like that in my entir elife, not at a job, not in a video game etc.

It reminded me of how a slave owner would speak to a slave back in the 1800s or something, it was surreal, it's like wait, who the fuck are you talking to? That would get your teeth slapped out of your skull if you talked to anyone that way IRL, and here you are, raging at some dude you don't even know on a 20+ year old non-competitive video game after your guild spent 2 weeks begging him to join.

Good lord that shit still has me triggered. Even the most competitive WoW guilds in the world don't talk to people like that.

tl;dr What guilds are good on the blue server?

1) "Close to 50" is not close to ready to join a raiding guild. You need about 4-5 level 60's. Hope this helps.

2) Since you mentioned slave owners in the 1800's I think the first in game tell you send should be to an officer of <Kittens Who Say Meow> named Ngar. N-G-A-R. Four letters.

If you don't see this character on in game its easy to lookup on discord as well. Ngar is a UN speaker for Kittens.

3) And I'm sure Kittens will be happy to recruit you even at level 50. (Especially if its a druid. And needs an epic.) Because they're a mostly casual but sometimes pretend to raid guild.

So this could be the perfect place for you to go to where you could literally do anything you want from there.

1) You could lvl to 60 a couple times with kittens and then reevaluate where else you'd like to bounce to based off of the super accurate gossip Kittens constantly share amoungst themselves about all the actual raid guilds.

or

2) I'm sure you could just stop leveling and just show up as a level 50 to whatever coordinated events they 'offer.' Just be consistent with reminders about needing an epic. And have fun!

you cannot expect everyone to be super nice and friendly, especially with the top 2 raiding guilds when the main focus is to win targets. this means they expect you to do the right thing and fuck things up for others

if you dont have thick skins, a casual raiding or casual/family guilds may fit you better
Pretty reasonable to expect someone not to curse someone out because they aren’t present for a raid they weren’t even aware was happening, force them to come, and then curse them out again for not being fully prepared for said raid

Far too much cursing in raid guild voice channels. Fucking shitheads.

I actually have a 50+ Necro and Cleric. Necro was boring and felt like playing game on easy mode. Rerolled a gnome cleric. Solo’d til level 50 and realized that a lack of Undead mobs in Kunark and beyond was going to severely limit my ability to play the game so I rerolled again with this shaman.

I never really said I wanted to join a raid guild, but I’ve had several strangers approach me asking if I wanted to join their guild. (This never happened on my Cleric, I kept /anon on at all times because people would ask me to stop what I was doing and run 4 zones away and wade through a dungeon to 50% Rez them, no joke).

And part of me is like, man, maybe I should join a guild. It gets lonely playing this game for days at a time without a single conversation, but then I’m also hesitant / cautious about joining a guild and not enjoying it or finding out a significant portion of the server will blacklist me for my affiliation.

It’s a real concern because I don’t know any of the guild lore on blue. On Green I could write an essay about why I like and dislike certain guilds.

Black listed?

You’re hidden away soloing undead, /anon, unguilded and refusing to assist corpse runs - sounds like you’ve already ostracised yourself?
