Necro Skullcap 6 - Grype/Swashbuckler

Almost feels redundant for me to post this here and in the main bugs forums but.. just in case it helps [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

The 6th Necromancer skullcap went through some changes. Originally the quest did not have us chasing Revenants for both candlestick parts, this change was not made until after 2002 as noted in this comment with further info from 2001 here. The Revenant was to drop the stem only and a note telling about a robed Iksar who made off with the base. The change for both coming from Revs was circa 2004 as seen here.

The Revenants in P99 currently do drop the stem and the note, as they should according to the timeline. However Grype responds to no hails, tells nothing about the base and seems to do nothing but 'glug, glug, glug'. He is clearly involved in the quest as seen here and the proper dialogue appears for it here but Grype doesn't seem to be taking part or responding despite my repeated attempts.

Just to give it a shot I hung around FV for a couple days waiting on the Halfling Swashbuckler (and further posts pointing to him being required and having loot even as late as mid-2004 here. Even if Grype wasn't functioning right, the Halfling should have been given the proper loot table, but he dropped nothing at all. Not only did he not have the stein for the quest, but he didn't even have the useless no-drop rogue stuff he was supposed to have. He appeared armed with a rapier (iirc) but didn't even have that. He was killed 2x by two different members of the guild.

Bugged I assume?

No, it doesn't. I made 1 other post but it didn't conform to the guidelines. I meant to delete it but forgot, and that's the 1 ya ended up posting on.

This is actually the detailed post I put up a day after the other one, complete with dates, quest dialogue and loot drops, which corresponds to the posted research guidelines.

It was actually only a double post, the 3rd is by someone else and only covers faction, which is working fine.

damn man calm down. if they're not going to have the 9th skullcap there isnt much reason to do this quest anyways.

Hmm well I edited my response down there. Just makes me nutty when people make presumptions, especially when I went through a crazy amount of work to make this post so completely detailed. I, and many others, still would like to see the quest fixed to what it should be, I mean that was why I reported it in the first place. It should be working, it isn't, and so I researched every aspect and put it here, hence the post [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

yeah I'll probably get a blighted skullcap soon anyways, but the graphic on the helm is cool, and i've put in the effort anyways so i'll probably finish up the quest (when its working again) sometime in the future.

its cool man, its upsetting when you spend 12+ hours looking for an item you know/believe should be in the game and you realize that you just wasted all that time for nothing.

Indeed it is all fixed. Halfling has all of his drops, even the no-drop armor.

Couldn't get Grype to respond to anything, but it didn't matter. He gave up the base/foot in exchange for the Stein. And the quest NPC gives the cap in return.

I can't get Grype to say a damn thing either. Gonna go hunt for the stein now =P. Thanks for fixing this, guys.
