A lot of people don’t remember this but instances are classic.

I personally witnessed them in Karnors and Sebilis on numerous occasions and loved it because you could usually get any camp that was otherwise taken by simply zoning out of Sebilis and then zoning back into Sebilis 2. The only criteria seemed to be that the zone had 100+ players in it, and then a second iteration of the same zone would open. Not sure what year this was, but I quit playing in Velious, and I don’t think I spent much time in Kunark after Velious came out because at that point since I was mostly farming PoG and SkyShrine armor.

I was under the impression that instancing began with the "adventures" you could start with a group with the LDoN expansion...

Doesn't sound real. I never experienced this and never heard anyone talking about something like this. Why are there no reports of East Commonlands ever splitting? That was probably the most populated zone in the game. Oasis, South Karana, LGuk all 100+ crowded back in the day, never heard about any zone splits.

This *might* have been a thing on Stormhammer, I honestly have no idea. But it was definitely not a thing on regular servers until LDoN.

This is talking about Seb from EverQuest 2.
It loaded a new instance when over 100 people like other EQ2 public zones. Nothing to do with EverQuest Classic :-)
