I've been dabbling with magic since April. It's given me a sense of radical openness in addition to nihilistic skepticism. I can entertain any belief because I have the tools to escape that belief.
"Nothing is true. Everything is permitted." You can get a lot done if you don't believe anything is stopping you. That's magic.

Magic, whether you call it witchcraft, voodoo, sorcery, etc, and despite the different practices within those schools, is just the concept of doing anything, usually ritualistic to achieve a desired result. Although the result isn't always how you expect kinda like the cliche of wishes from a Genie (Jinnea) backfiring. And the three main components of successful magic is belief, "the energy put into it", and "help" from unseen forces.
So whether or not you're drawing pentagrams in your room with candles or tricking people into giving you money with an illusion, is the essentially the same. And the means of doing so or even how it works is less important than producing results. And it includes "calling on unseen forces" or beings like demons, spirits, elementals, pure consciousness, whatever. Where do you think EQ got its lore from like the mage pets or the Ifriti? Its an actual type of jinn. But I strongly suggest avoiding magic entirely and to call on God instead and do real work if you want results without "negative" effects. Although you could say that even basic work is a type of magic. But you need nothing else and it will only harm you in the end, sometimes severely. This guy explains it well: Richard Smoley: Magic and the Occult And here's some examples of what Jinn sound like, although they vary in type and demeanor. Some of them like to lie alot and mess with us but they have different motives. And multiple of them can reside in people. The new age channelers are using the same phenomena but have no idea what they're letting possess them: "SON OF IBLEES" - 100,000 YEAR OLD JINN True or False Abu Ruqya - JAY Z satanic jinn
