I got a blood speckled obisidian shard (or something like that)... any1 kno what its for?

ok, correction, it was a "blood flecked obsidain shard", but still not sure what its for...

Mob was listed as an Elemental Warrior. Definitely shows this existed in era at the very least.

My group was going into the pool area and I was Mling. I got on of these off the hall way mobs.

Not sure what its used for yet=)

Note that the subject line of that post indicates that it dropped off an Elemental Crusader.

Additional confirmation from mcoy's logs:

[Tue Jul 09 02:14:59 2002] an elemental capturer has been slain by Blaade!
[Tue Jul 09 02:15:07 2002] --Lokdar has looted a Blood Flecked Obsidian Shard.--

This is a bit further out of era, but still shows that the item did indeed drop (an elemental capturer in this case). The Hole was not revamped until 8/26/03. I should mention the only update before that was some minor Luclin content quest drops and on 5/8/2002 it was changed to use Kunark Mez/Charm/Taunt rules.


Seeing as how these 3 mentions are off 3 different elementals, I think it is reasonable to assume it dropped off any elemental.

Essentially, these are just vendor trash (pricing data listed on ZAM). No in era quests for them.

Let me know if you'd like any more information. There was already a wiki page for this item but flagged as out of era, should you implement this I'll modify the page / drop tables on the wiki.

Additional confirmation found in march of 2001 here.

A Bloodstained Obsidian Shard *dropped by an Elemental warrior in "The
Hole".
Merchant is offering me 60pp for it so I stopped and said.."hmm better not
sell this just yet".

However, I can not locate any information on it.

Any idea?
