Default Green night vision?

During green beta the night vision patch made the game fully unplayable for
me as a human. Not classic 1999 unplayable but like solid black with really weird light sources and solid black areas in the middle of the day and stuff.

Has it been improved? I like the idea but it basically made the game bad for me.

Thanks for any tips!

Lack of night vision on P99 is rough. I play Human and Erudite and live with it but you absolutely cannot see anything in the dark, especially in a cave. At night there are large patches of black everywhere in outdoor zones. If you are a naked Cleric on a CR you need to summon your Level 14 spell Halo of Light if you want to see anything. Daytime is fine though there's nothing weird with lighting that happens in the day.

I like the lack of night vision on human/eru/barb but a lot of people don't. It is -very- dark at night but daytime is fine.

Besides the darkness which is somewhat classic the lighting effects were just messed up and the game ran badly. Obvious answer is that I need to log back in green and see how it goes. I just wanted to see if anyone was still struggling with the technical side

I swap this in during the night on my human characters:

Not great, but easily obtained / cheap enough.

The lighting effects for light sources are better than they were in green beta, but they can still be a bit much when a lot of people with light sources are close to eachother like at EC tunnel. It gets blindingly bright and the walls look all washed out, and the light has a bluish tint which makes armor look weird.

I just got used to it though, and it doesn't really bother me anymore

Care to post a screen shot or two of the worst parts of it, and what it looks like rolling around at night time with a glowing stone band?

Thanks for all the good feedback guys I am day dreaming of a new red99 server and can't decide if I could handle being a human or even playing on a server with the custom light FX

make a half elf and go outside at night

its pretty similar to what it looks like for a human to have a serpent sight item
