PS5/XBOX and gpu shortages

Whats the deal? Seems kind of suspicious to me even with the "pandemic" going on. Scalpers making millions somehow buying up a huge percentage of the available product the second it drops. It all just seems very weird and bizarre to me. PS5 dropped in November last year and still cant find one anywhere. I read any article about how the president is going to launch an investigation soon into the shortages to find out what is going on. Any thoughts?
