Default Greets-Old Bard player

Greetings,

Played here many many moons ago. Wondering if bards still perform like they did in classic? Swarm kiting etc?

The only class you can't find in newer games is an EQ bard. There are bard types but they just don't have the same flavor.

Where did you prefer to swarm at the lower levels?

They did put a 25 mob limit on swarms but that’s definitely still viable.

I just came back to P99 Blue and have a lvl 12 bard in banded but finding it hard to solo even blue con mobs.

Can you give any tips out there for low lvl leveling as i am very rusty to say the least.

You can AOE kite beetles in NK with your level 2 song. At 18 go to EK and AOE kite gorge hounds. At 22-23 go to OT for a few levels then pop over to LOIO. At 28 or so head to FV. You can push FV till late 40s and then DL till 54.

and if swarming really isnt your thing you can always melee for a bit (stringed instrument + chords + punching is probably still more dps than weapon), then start kiting with bruscos bellow and hp regen song.

the lvl 18 pbae song has a much greater range and makes learning to swarm a lot easier. If you arent swarming probably best to group until you get your fear/charm songs in the upper 20s and first chant at 30. Then you can do whatever the hell you want lol
