Default Will Boats be bugged on launch?

I plan on making an erudite enchanter but ive been sitting here at the docks for 45 min staring at sharks. If so then I will probably make a DE enchanter. I wanted the nightsight challenge but not the boat one lol.

It's difficult to predict what could go wrong at launch.

I firmly believe the p99 staff will do their best to make sure boats function properly at launch. They have a few years (10) of experience dealing with boat shenanigans.

In terms of boats functioning correctly and being slow. ~20 minute waits. That's just classic.

Are you on green beta or blue? The boat on green beta works just like on blue. In erudin you have to get on the small shuttle that is always at the docks. You can't see the actual boat from the docts, the shuttle takes you to it, approximately every 17-18 minutes.

On blue, a message shows in chat when the boat leaves Qeynos or Erudin. On green that message is disabled (classic).

The boat is not currently broken on green beta and I don't know why it would be on launch

The boats work fine on both blue and green. Not sure what OP is talking about.

No wonder I was waiting at the wrong place. I never saw a shuttle. Thanks for info!

It happens. I'm glad you figured it out though!

I never understood the whole "shuttle" thing that they did in Erudin and in Butcherblock (to Firiona Vie) and even the stupid little rafts in NRO (Iceclad) and the Oasis (The Overthere). Why not just have one boat stop and take players to these locations? Why have a raft or a magical platform (that looks ridiculous) take you to a place to get on a boat?

If by "fine" you mean "they use the wrong models and you need to have a constant levitation effect so you don't fall through it" I suppose they're fine.

Yes. That is what I mean by "fine". They work and they get you from point A to point B.

A lot of work went into making those boats work. I remember speaking to the dev that was tasked with this on launch back in 2009 and he told me just a little bit of what has to go into it.

Speaking of the launch back in 2009, we didn't even have working boats, we had translocators. So yeah, these boats work absolutely fine!
