Default Classic Splitpaw?

I'm trying to find more info on 1999 Splitpaw.

Splitpaw was supposedly "revamped" (using this term liberally) on April, 10 2000. Before then (March 1999 to 2000), it was different. Was it just a buffing of the mobs? Post: https://www.project1999.com/forums/s...light=splitpaw

Maps (various eras): http://steveprutz.com/eq/paw.htm

Anyone got Ultra-Classic Times info on this zone, pre-revamp?

There's already a whole thread dedicated to it, and finding classic evidence to make it happen. I forget the title, but I think Jibartik started it?

The thing is though ... I think all you have to do is see that thread's start date (of like a month ago) to realize we're likely not getting "Infected Paw" on Green launch. In the past the devs have needed months of research, months of development, and months of testing, to make a new zone happen.

Never say never though [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

The gnolls in Splitpaw before the "revamp" were a different clan and used the models for the gnolls currently in Lake Rathetear. The new gnolls kicked them out because they were weak. The level range was roughly 8-24 so not much different than Blackburrow, but it was a long ass trip and you had to go bind your melees in Arena. I did it with my warrior and a friend back in "the day" and when we couldn't get groups for Paw together we'd hunt aviaks by the entrance to Arena. Probably not the best path for XP in hindsight.

I don't think there was really any special drops in Splitpaw either before the revamp but it was 20 years ago and we never got very deep into the zone. We moved on by level 16 or so to Oasis.

Melees could bind at NK gypsies.
