Teams based on your favorite food, like hamburgers vs tacos?

It was called sullon Zek, and it was taken down becuase good was overrun. When the forced merge happen Sullon Zek has the biggest issues trying to understand that they no longer had the right to cause exp death, train people, engage in no mercy tactics to win. It was a slime server build for people who wanted to act like slime.

Every time you divide up the population along some lines in order to force PvP what happens in the end is you get an uber-cross-teaming guild which exploits the PvP team rules to keep everybody out of their zone or plane or peak or whatever by bringing in your-team players who help them out and who you can't touch unless you're also cross-teaming. It's a fucking mess of a complicated solution every time, whether race or deity or class or whatever-based.
This solution is super simple and the best: Quote:

I think geographic teams (West Antonica vs. East Antonica vs. Faydwer vs. Kunark ... with Odus on West Antonica's team) would be fun, but you're right that any sort of "fixed teams" will inevitably result in unbalanced teams over time.
I still like the idea of "fixed teams" ... just with some sort of mechanism to balance things (eg. the losing team gets an XP bonus) ... but just letting people pick teams at level 10 actually is a really good idea also. People might pick the winning team and make the problem worse though ...

People do pick the winning team and the problem does get worse. Thats why teams are bad.
Still people want to try teams because, why not. Its just a game. Why not play another ruleset. We all love the golden age of whatever server we played on. Sullon Zek had some cool features and some terrible ones and in the end it was mega broken evil team only server. But it was still fun. The custom 2 team set proposed by whoever from p99 is at least worth trying. Best bet for this pop is real discord server with seasons like real discord had (tho it was only 1 season) because the toxic comes to an end.

1.) People can only buff/heal/resurrect those on their same team 2.) All damage done to an NPC is added up based on the faction someone is on (so a "good team" group can't just bring in a "evil team" friend to add extra out-of-party DPS against an opposing "evil" group) 3.) Allow people to /report players of their same faction if they feeling cheating is happening (aka someone logging on an "evil team" alt and pulling trains on evil team players to help their own group/faction out)

If it's the former, that doesn't really solve the problem of bringing outside DPS to help you on a raid. If it's the latter... interesting -- just don't know if I've ever seen anything like that on an EQ server.

Regardless of whatever someone is doing to try and cheat the system, this where the /report function comes it. By having an in-game function that allows the players to easily flag cross-team cheating, it would put a halt to almost all of it. People don't want their accounts suspended (misusing the /report feature to falsely report someone would also be grounds for suspension, if anyone was going to bring up that "what if?" scenario).

That's an interesting idea.. but I think we could solve the problem with even LESS work:
Have teams PvP in most zones, except for contested/raid zones. Those zones should be FFA PvP to prevent people exploiting team mechanics.
