Default Next upgrade for 51 Monk

Hi all. I'm torn about my next upgrade for my 51 Monk. I've got a Fungi and IFS. The IFS has served me well, and I feel I do decent damage, even with my paltry 22% haste.

I have about 7.5k saved currently. I'll need to buy my OT hammer shortly, so 2k will be tied up in that, but I am wondering whether it'd be worth it to sell my IFS and buy an SoS+Ada Club, OR hold onto my IFS for Chardok 2.0 and spend the plat on a Sash of the Dragonborn, Gauntlet of Potence, and resist wrist.

Or perhaps something else? What would be the most effective use of this money? I'm happy to save more for a more worthwhile investment.

Thanks for your advice.

I've done RotLC but need both pipes, which I plan to work on. I'll likely need to MQ at least one of them.

I think a decent haste upgrade will help you the most...

Maybe: Runebranded Girdle - 27% haste - Approx 18-20k
or save a bit more for: Rune Bolster Belt - 31% haste - Approx 30-32k.

I would definitely work on epic. As part of the steps: "Robe of the Whistling Fist" clicky gives 25% spell haste, plus some AC and Strength while you continue to work on the rest of your epic. Keep the Robe as long as you can.

An earring of essence might serve you well to replace the orc fang. Though you can probably just farm that yourself at this point

Top priority for spending should be epic or a better haste item. Sure you can upgrade your ear/belt/neck/face quite cheap, but they will only set you back further from your top priority. And no, do not spend money on weapons now.

I twinked my monk with 250k worth of gears (including epic). After leveling to high 50s here is what I realize.

- I still don't tank as good as real tanks, especially without slow.
- My dmg output is limited unless I get raid weapons. Any monk with decent haste + epic and an sos can dps just as good.

And the only benefits are.

- I can level faster solo
- I can duo/trio without healer.
- Epeen - I get the very rare "awe" from other players inspecting.

Conclusion: Get your dps on par through acquiring epic + good worn haste. Spending the least to be only marginal diff with super twinks is the most clever way to spend plat.

I'd head to KC to get some exp/plat while you look for KC Pipe. The chardok one will cost you like 10k so you mind as well save for that ASAP.
