Smithing for ogre after 115+

What's an ogre to do? Fine plate is unavailable and farming HQ ore for ornate chain will take forever and a day, so possibly by next year (at the rate I play) I'll have enough. As an ogre, how do I train smithing beyond banded? How did ogres and trolls do it back in classic? I never did.

Crap this was meant for the pvp server forum. I only have casters on blue, none of whom do smithing.

So for an ogre on red, what are the options?
