First of all religion is the belief in aliens.

It was the mapping of stars and the use of evidence based reasoning to determine why things were happening.

They just didn't have a lot of good ways to determine evidence and had no reasoning skills.

Today we do the same things they did, look to the maps of the stars to tell us the stories of their origins.

Second of all if there were aliens that did what you're saying, then they would be falling victim to the literal reason you say they are avoiding us, their own egos.

Killing babies is wrong. It's a controversial position, I know. Btw small kids are way more of a threat to the mother's health after they're born, especially their mental health. Kids are fucking assholes. So I guess it should be okay to kill a 2 year old?
