Capitalism is the best system if you ignore the one that drags backwater countries into first rate world powers despite unholy global alliances stacked against it.

edit: My problem with IRAs is that you giving away huge portions of this investment income to a firm that isn't actively managing the assets...they are just charging you for a computer to run your money for you. You take all the risk -- they take 2% compound or so.

One of the things I've heard socialist in other countries argue for -- is better regulation on these kind of inactively managed investment tools.

Which leads me to a much more serious point I need to make: Capitalism needs constant regulation and law enforcement. A huge part of our problems currently is the sheer amount of illegal behavior taking place in this economy. Collusion, tax evasion, and other kinds of white collar crime are unchecked. And that's why surveillance is ultimately in the cards.

I originally wanted to be a Saul Goodman like criminal defense attorney (after getting busted)...but I'm waiting on lawschool...never too old for lawschool. In the meantime, don't be one of those dumbasses 200,000 in the hole for a education that didn't amount to you being a lawyer.

Edit: Being a felon doesn't necessarily mean you can't pass the bar. Especially for chicken-shit crimes that don't actually hurt people like mine.
