It's not philosophy. It's straight up advice. Erotica is something I meant to mention in that rant. Your subtext is going to be lost just by the extreme genre you're choosing to write it with. Which I also thought was a good thing in a way because you can relentlessly criticize anyone publicly and you're guaranteed only a fraction of people will read it and fewer still will care. But if you're hoping to get an important message to a wide audience, know your audience first.

50 Shades of Grey sold 60 million copies and it supposedly was way more extreme than my writing. Conflating BDSM with abuse. Can't say for sure though I never read it

That's the sad thing. The writing is pretty quality. I just think the subject matter nopes most people on the nopestrain to nopeville. We're still fairly uptight about sex here in the colonies.
