For this trick, do you have to enter either Green's or Teal's game world or just go to the character screen?

Erati - not to state the obvious, but by chance were you logged into the game at the time? The game was probably accessing the file then. Also, if you right click the file, does it give an option to open with a simple Word document program?

Not logged into the game no and yes I open it in Texteditor.

I could change the file before this patch now I cannot for example I cannot make Log=True anymore either.

A possible fix would be to obtain the "Unlocker" program which should unlock, and then delete your locked eqclient.ini file. Then according to this Rogean post https://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=337679, the program should recreate itself once you run the game again.

Like NegaStoat, lately whenever a new patch arrives, I have been picking and choosing files to copy and cover, instead of just blindly running the patch. I just concentrate on those that have had their save date altered and then see what was changed.

Outdoor night time should be like "in unrest tunnel" levels of dark without a light source.

Most light sources are giving off way too much light.

Don't think light should stack brightness like it does now.

Seems to be the classic changes we need when someone can get to it.

Well, attempting the trick to log into Green and then Blue seems to keep the dynamic lighting off for a while, but no matter what, the eqclient file constantly gets adjusted to keep the clip plane minimum (either 10 or 20 I have seen). Thus while the lights were alright for a bit, having the game constantly draw everything because my character cannot see a mere ten feet in front of me is still quite annoying. So instead of roaming this relatively beautiful world...
