Bow of the Huntsman: Can't hug wall to get past See Invis NPC

Not sure if this was patched and working as intended but some of the people here said if you can get past the first two see invis giants on the way to Gleed Dragonhunter the last one in the tunnel (Legionnaire Yvedrn) can be evaded by hugging the left wall. I've failed this twice.

Has it been patched so he aggros or am I just doing this poorly? Thanks!
