I'm going to have to concede that you're correct here, at least by traditional means. For example, if we're talking about Alex Jones being deplatformed from iTunes, Facebook, YouTube, Spotify, et cetera, or the instance of Gavin McInnes and the Proud Boys, or the British First group on Facebook... then yeah, it works to some degree.
However, if we're talking about memes, how do you deplatform that? There are simply too many outlets and options to do the same thing. 4chan, 8chan, 9gag.... there are literally hundreds of sites made by millions of creators expressing a variety of different opinions. You can't deplatform that. At least I wouldn't know how. If 9gag, for example, started cutting content because it may have offended someone, people would flock to the next site.

it's not the vehicle that matters, it's the message. anything that could potentially spread the message of white supremacy/nazism should be watched over with a careful eye. if you notice a pattern, you need to do something about it. you could even accuse me of being a part of it by posting that florida image in this thread. same meme used by the shooter. hell, even the message in that image could be construed as part of it, and you wouldn't be wrong for saying that i contributed to those causes. i'm disgusted w/ myself for it, and it will be a valuable lesson going forward to higher prioritize not spreading anything that could be construed as nazi ideology, even if secondary or even tertiary to the main point. that's all i can really do.
tl;dr you have to be vigilant and watchful with fascism, and watch for patterns to emerge. there is no easy answer such as "banning memes", but learn to be critical of the media you consume constantly.
