I get brown and green ones around my house, mostly green.

They are adaptable little suckers though.

Millions of years ago they were most likely 20x bigger

just like scorpions

when scorpions lived underwater they were 10-20 feet long

saw a gator the other night and it hissed at me, nice knowing we are not really at the top of the food chain all the time
