Default I haven't played another game as welcoming to new players as EverQuest.

I remember people being pretty helpful in classic, even though the game is decades old, p99 pretty cool to new/casual players. It's very classic.

Never experienced this in any other game before or since, including other MMORPGs.

Yeah I love the community here. As long as you walk a big circle around the "RnF" section of this forum and also approach the end-game raid politics between the top guilds with as much serenity as possible.

The think i really like about P99, is that we are all obviously huge fans of the game, after all we've had to jump through hoops just to get the correct install and get it setup correctly... and we are willing to do that to play a (nearly) 20 year old game.

Anyway, welcome and enjoy the journey (again)!

All RnF aside, the game isn't the shitshow you often see here. We're just old cantankerous lil bastards with too much feels for the game than it is good for us.

Welcome to P99.

Aside from the occasional in-game idiot, most people here are great!

Even at the highest end raid scene, there are good times, laughs, and enjoyment had between people in every guild. EQ is a special game and this is a great community. It has it's share of crappers, but the good far outweigh the bad.

My main is lvl 59.

The reason I like p99's community is cause it's made up of a lot of high level people doing alts + newbies.

I just find the leveling experience to be amazing now that I'm going through it again on alts, and it consistently blows me away how helpful most people are. Compare that to starting ANY OTHER GAME where you'll get raged at for being new or "casual".

I think it's because EQ is so tough and grindy (making server rep a thing on p99 cause you tend to see the same folks throughout your leveling journey, much like classic) that most people tend to be pretty understanding. The jerk asses on this server are certainly a minority, in my experience.

Long live p99.
