Quoting myself from the druid guide above...
You'll see the best returns on +mana items until around level 30. Even then you only get 6mana per wis so embroidered arms, onyx cape, glowing bone collar, opaline earrings jade?rings with 20 mana 20 hp? Bracers with 15mana/hp also jade?, wolf slippers, dragon totem from sola will all provide some of the best mana pool until then. They are all pretty cheap and easily campable if you have a mid level main. You can even save them all for future

I would not worry too much about Mana or Wis gear. Sure you need some like the cheap Moonstone Ring. And the strength helps also.
You can have a Mana pool of 3,000 and you will still run OOM at some point. Then you have to sit and med for 15 minutes. By then the group breaks up and is long gone. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Your group is not constantly going to keep pulling no matter how much mana you have. You run out of mobs for one thing. Clerics can really get by with very little gear unless you want to be a Battle Cleric. Then you want more good AC gear and great weapons than wis, mana items. You are going to pretend you are a Pally not a Cleric on average. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Agreed with webrunner. Not really worth twinking a cleric for the first 30 levels in mana gear. If you're going to twink a cleric, unless you're going big (fungi, CoF, Epic, maybe Manastone)... You won't notice much of a difference. Especially if you're in a group.
Throw down 100 on Moonstone Rings, maybe go get some Embroidered Black Sleeves/Cape, beyond that it's not really worth your time or money to have 1 more light healing in your mana pool. If you're soloing you may find you need 1-2 more pieces to blow up 3 undead and then med, in which case grab some wis items that will scale up with you.

Fungi on a cleric?
[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] If you're grouping I'd honestly go for mana/wis gear. You're there to heal, your mana pool is important. My blue cleric is light years ahead of my red cleric in terms of wis gear and its very noticeable. +3 wis earrings +6 wis rings http://wiki.project1999.com/Charred_Guardian_Shield (+9 wis) http://wiki.project1999.com/Springwood_Club (+5 wis) http://wiki.project1999.com/Platinum_Ruby_Veil (+7 wis) http://wiki.project1999.com/Pearl_Kedge_Totem (+18 wis) http://wiki.project1999.com/Adamantite_Epaulets (+7 wis) http://wiki.project1999.com/Bracers_of_the_Reverent x2 (+10 wis) or Runed Mithril Bracers (+10 wis) http://wiki.project1999.com/Reed_Belt (+5 wis) http://wiki.project1999.com/Bloodstained_Tunic (+4 wis) A good mana pool is also good if you want to solo anything undead. I'd stack wisdom, aim for 160-180 to start with whatever you get.

Fungi + Battle Cleric > Group EXP for the first 30-40 levels I thinks.

This is more min/max crap that's an attempt to get levels as fast as possible rather than grouping up, taking on an assigned role and enjoying the journey. In a server full of Daldaen's, there are no groups - just people with fungis all soloing and petitioning each other. If you have a fungi roll a monk and spend 5k on gearing that. Then proceed to your nearest high ZEM area (Unrest/Mistmoore are excellent choices because there's other people there to show how great you are at EverQuest by not grouping) and steal mobs from outside their "technical" camp boundaries. Nothing wrong with soloing on a cleric, but beef up your mana pool hold the fungi - way more useful to other classes.

I do not want to solo this guy. I think a large mana pool is useful...yeah you have to med it back but I like to have the reserve available for an especially bad situation, one where yeah, that one last light heal will save the day.
Thanks all.
