That's actually not at odds with what the psychologist suggested. Doing part time work, physical labor as wanted/needed would be on the table still. It's just most people want a high paying desk job. And they really aren't ready for that shit at an early age most the time.
Meanwhile, you don't need to retire and start farting around your garden at age 65 anymore...people are living longer and staying healthier.
That being said, I'm not a big fan of sending sub 25-year-olds into dangerous territory. Having them stand around hostile areas with rifles etc...
I wonder if that is really necessary. I know that we over-use our military. But I'm not sure if there is some reason to have the young ones out and experienced early on like this.

Heavy emotional trauma is the forge that tempers souls. These kids all seem ready to conquer the world and dominate each other. I say we help them realize their dreams and those that survive will be much more capable of self actualization and responsibility.
