Default mss32.dll

So I keep getting an error message that this was not found. I haven't seen any thread specific response and I'm not terribly computer savvy so any advice would be welcome.

I adjusted the eqgame.exe shortcut as stated and extracted the files suggested on this website but I keep getting the message.

The . dll file is mockingly sitting there in the folder, taunting me, daring me to try and run the program again just so it can pop up that little box that tells me it's not there. Yes you are there, I can see you!

Sorry... so any thoughts?

Did you make a shortcut to eqgame, or did you move the file out of your Everquest folder?

Made the shortcut to the game and moved the short cut out of the folder, but in or out of the folder made no difference. I have left the .dll file alone and done nothing with it.

If it matters, I am using an Underfoot Steam download, which EQEMU said it supported.

Start Line: "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\everquest"
Target Line: "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\everquest\eqgame.exe" patchme

Argh, I think I may have just discovered the problem, Underfoot says 'all in one compilation' but it sounds like it might not be... anyone know for sure?

Okay maybe it does...

Underfoot (on Steam) is an all-in-one compilation, but i know it's missing some files you'd need to recover from an older client (this may be intentional by SOE to force you to patch for it to work).

So what does this mean I should do?

The way the EQEmu site reads suggests that Underfoot should act the same of SoD but I am not sure of the distinction.

When they added Underfoot to the Steam version, they changed it a bit so some zone files and other things are missing... I think there's info about what's missing on the EqEmulator.org thread about SoD/Underfoot development (searching that should find it).

What you'd need to do is find an older copy of the game and get those files from there.

I don't know off the top of my head which files they are.

Did you change your eqhost.txt file to Host=eqemulator.net:5998 ?

Also, make sure you've set up a Login Server account on eqemulator.org

It's under User CP
