Folks'll adapt, same as they adapted to the removal of invisibility pulling, the altered resist code, or the disabled compass or buff timers or a host of other changes.

Pet window can be more or less re-created in the traditional manner of setting up buttons in the actions window then leaving said window open. Hotkeying pet commands rather than clicking them is tougher with more limited button space. Realistically only "back off" usually requires that kind of instant-click utility so a button should be able to be spared for that if necessary.
