Not able to chat?
Hello,
I'm trying to get on, I haven't been on for over a year... I'm still nowhere near being an EQ expert, I just wanted to try to group up with someone to get out of the starting areas. I'm getting a message about a spam filter whenever I try to send a tell or even chat. Am I being flagged or is there something I'm missing? Thanks again.

It's a newish thing, you can't send messages properly until you're level 5. I think until then it's capped to stop spamming in public channels and has to be under 60 or 75 characters per sentence.
(yes its awful) | ||

I really don't like this.. makes it difficult to figure things out if I cannot really chat with those around me without difficulty.

IIRC, the chat limits are also more likely to trigger if you use lots of punctuation and capital letters, so maybe try reducing those before you hit 5?

Yea I made a character a while back and was infuriated by this. I know it's necessary though. As well as I remember it lasted until level 10, and if you received tells by people you were able to send more messages to them before being filtered.

Yeah, Guild Chat is the only one that isn't filtered.
