Default Bristle Silk(Armor Set)

There is a merchant located within the Haggle Baron building of East Cabilis. He sells a set of armor called Bristle Silk. Combing through alla and a couple of other places I cannot find any mention of this set that predates 2002. Should be removed if this is correct.

It's unremarkable, especially as HB has a quest for a better set of armour.

The real bug may be it having velious monk texture, which I guess may have prompted your investigation. I'm sure that was a later change.

The best way to check this armour was classic is to check the item ID numbers.

Shows him selling clothing, with the old UI/graphics. (updated 2007 though) Short trip on the wayback machine didn't seem to turn up anything.

EQ item ID: 4285

I used to do a bit of classic questing but I forget what item numbers ran up to in Velious.

None of the bristle silk is listed being added before 2002

Also yes the velious graphics is what prompted my curiosity.

Default Bristle Silk Armor = Classic?

I wanted to add info to a thread that previously existed (started by Caiu, who apparently got banned, and even Bug report threads of his got nuked).

He mentioned a vendor that sells Bristle Silk Armor set in Cabilis and couldn't find a reference prior to 2002.

Was crawling through an archive and found what I believe to be a mention of it:

The newbie area is the field of bone, but before you go there stop by a lizardman who sells bristle silk, you can get a quest for some good newbie armor. Stay away from the pit in the middle of the zone though 'cause "whiffs often get killed by carelessness" also stay away from the waterways that run through the city, they are barracuda infested!
That same vendor sells Bristle Silk on P99. I would seriously question if it was indeed always 'Velious Monk' graphic though.

Just thought I would post this in case some dev had flagged it for removal.

On a side note, would be nice if Caiu's bug threads remained open/not deleted, I see a few have been left alone for whatever reason.
