Default Group invite Pop up Tip Box

The box that comes up is labeled ctxgroupinvite.html I accidentally chose the do not show this tip again box and closed it. Now when I get group invites I just see the text. Is there a way to go back and change this somehow in the files or a command to get it to start popping up the box again?

Stupid question: why do you want the tip? Do you not understand how group invites work?

Because I do not always see the group invite text and having that box popup when I get a group invite shows me. I have the Duxa UI loaded also so that invite/join box is really small also.

Ahhh. Never thought of using that tip as a "pay more attention to the fact that you just got an invite" trick, but I guess you could use it that way. Personally I've just trained myself to keep an eye on the group window: if someone invites you it changes to have a green "accept the invite" checkmark.

But to get that tip window back, I believe you're going to need to edit your UI_CHARACTER_NAME_project1999.ini file in your EverQuest folder. Disabling all tips is done with "ShowTips=0", and I'm pretty sure each individual tip is kept in that file too, I just don't know which one it uses.

If it were me, I'd make a new character and save a copy of that file for them. Then I'd get them invited and disable that tip. I'd then compare the old file to the new one in an online "diff" tool, and in theory only one line should have changed. Once I know that line I'd just change it (in my original character's file) from 0 to 1.

Another, simpler, option would be to start a new character, then delete your character's old file and make a copy of your new character's file with your old character's name. This will reset *everything* for your new character though, not just that tip window, so this might be overkill.

Good luck!

You Da Man Dude! The exact command for the group tips box is in the UI_CHARACTER_NAME_project1999.ini file, but when you check it to not show it again it reads GrpInvite=0 so to get it to start showing it again you have to change 0 to 1 to read GrpInvite=1

I have a GINA trigger setup that pops up a message and reads it out for all group invites/disband/leadership. Pretty effective.

One of the perks to being a ranger is I never have to worry about missing a group invite.
