Default Root + FD drops aggro while mob rooted

Mobs that are not damaged/dotted can be rooted, cast FD and stand up right away and aggro is dropped.

When root breaks, mob will behave as if not aggroed.

If the mob is still on its spawn point, then this is normal behavior. If it is at its spawn point, and aggro is dropped, then the mob instantly resets and clears its aggro list. This is a way common way of splitting mobs.

Was this occurring when the mob was somewhere other than its spawn point?

This occurs when mobs are not on their spawn point.

Were they under level 35? Mobs under level 35 can forget you even if they haven’t returned to their spawn point.

Have a chance to memblur on mobs over 35 too, is it consistently blurring for you?

I know not timeline specific changes to FD out of era, but will say without a doubt that spawn point is not a guaranteed reset on current live.

There is a waiting period that is easily viewed with the hate list / aggro drop messages these days.

It's not consistently blurring and these are mobs over lvl 35. I'd say 1/10 or so.

Is there historical patch notes regarding mem blur on rooting mobs, whether on spawn or not? I don't recall FD dropping aggro on a rooted target back on Live in era. Could just be my memory though. I seem to recall if you stand while target is rooted, you wouldn't clear off the hate list for the duration of the root.

Hmm this is an FD/aggro table issue, not root. Tested some geonids while pulling pheno out and stood up immediately after a successful FD. Both pheno and the other mob were within body aggro distance and still kept pathing back home.

Reminds me of the glory days of sneak / hide pulling on the monk before that was nerfed.

Fd have a chance to fully memwipe, each consecutive fd raises the probability. Can think of it as a crit feign...
Was working like that on live too, at least after the first big changes to fd mechanics, not sure how it worked before that.

This has never been accurate on P99 nor is it now. I've fd'd Emp Chottal x5 in a row and he still wouldn't blur, even after resetting to spawn point.

Mobs have always had to reset to spawn point on p99 before any chance of blurring would take effect.

I wonder if there are changes afoot?
