Default Of Rangers and bows...

Can anyone enlighten me on choosing a bow as a Ranger....

Do you go by DPS?
Damage?
Delay?
Ratio?
Situation?

Thanks!

For pulling, usually by range. Specifically the highest damage for that range.

In all honestly it depends on lots of things. If you want highest dps dam/delay ratio. If you plan on hunting only in a dungeon range isn't all that important. If you plan on hunting in WK...

Some people since they are only pulling with one shot just go with the highest damage and that's it. If they want a lot of range they just fletch 150 range arrows.

Depends how much you want to shoot your bow really. I've gone from 25-56 without a bow in my range slot and hasn't been a problem.

I plan to do outdoor soloing. I typically range/nuke mobs down to 30% or so before entering melee.

Thanks.

You need a good DPS/good range bow for bow-kiting.
Otherwise, a good range bow for outdoor pulling will suffice
for everything else.

Do you plan on fletching your own arrows? If you do you can increase your range via arrows and that could give you a wider range of useful range's on your bow of choice.

I do.
How do the ranges of a bow and an arrow tie in together?

The range of the arrow adds to the range of the bow. So if you have a bow with a range of 100 and you are using arrows with a range of 150 you have a total range of 250.

Just fletched 150rng arrows as opposed to the 50rng vendor arrows.

Range is ridiculous along with my Rain Caller.
Bow kiting is fun.

My bow dmg + spell dmg is easily comparable to my melee, I'd say.
