I gave them $5 for the starter pack. My barbarian is level 52 now. Nobody is forcing me to spend any more money and I’ll beat the game and get max level in my own time. Being able to quickly load up a dungeon with a few other players and slaughter everything while demonic voices taunt you is a great mobile experience.

I also appreciate some of the writing and voice acting. The game kind of makes fun of itself.. “We have to defeat Leoric… Again!”

Being an ATVI shareholder helps too

I'm level 58 and nearly done with the main quest and have spent $0. If you want to have max equipment and gems less than a week into launch then I guess you have to spend money, if you don't mind waiting you can eventually earn these same rewards through normal gameplay

I have no interest in trying to rush to end game. I rolled a crusader on a co-worker’s realm just to check it out. I’ll probably keep re-rolling to try all the classes, even though necro is still fun (my necro is I think lv 18 on diff server)

Honestly I feel like the game has a solid $30 value except it's your choice if you want to donate to blizzards net ease patreon or not. (Which = 3 funbucks in USD if you consider inflation from 1981 till today or something.)

Tru lol. The point it is it has a logical "endpoint" if you have impulse control and zero addiction issues.
