Is the OP serious? You have to "earn" your mob on this server by poopsocking, petitionquest, mage cothing, tracking 24/7, etc. because thats what makes you good at everquest! Didnt waste half your life due to a spawn? Clearly you don't deserve it and your asking to be on welfare. LOL
Well classic EQ is classic EQ.

They do make other games ya know, for example I hear WoW is much easier. They have these things calls instances, where everyone gets their own bosses and stuff. Many here would probably love it. In fact instancing isn't really much different from welfare or socialism, in the end everyone gets their share. No longer is there such a thing as "may the best man win".

yes because being the "best" at everquest means poopsocking, petitionquest, tracking, etc.

LOL you have to be joking
Yea that sounds a bit like classic EQ. Unfortunately on this server things are quite exaggerated due to not having a release for three or how many ever years, resulting in a messed up economy and heavily geared alt armies ready to dominate all possible raid targets at the drop of a hat.

Is handing out free loot really the answer though? That doesn't seem very classic to me. That's the equivalent of saying "Okay, so at this point everyone is way over-geared for Velious, so why don't we gear them up even more!"

Not sure about you but that sounds a little silly to me.

Fixing the timeline and doing a re-release of the expansions in a schedule that closely mirrors classic EQ is obviously the most ideal scenario. And no I'm not talking about a character transfer, I'm talking about a clean server. I for one hope that my donations go towards making that happen. Until that happens though, any rules and restrictions put in place are just bandaids to keep things hobbling along.

And how does something like variance make poopsocking any better? Seems like it only makes it worse.

I think that's how it usually works right? The greater the commitment, organization, and skill, the greater the reward.

This is completely different from what he just said.

Greatest amount of time does not equal greatest commitment & organization & skill. I guarantee you that there are people in this game who have greater skill, but less time to commit to the game. If you want proof come duel my main. I only play weekends (maybe 5 hours or less during weekdays total) because I actually work for a living and I'm sure I could take you down.
