stupid newb question - inspecting inventory

I have returned after a 10 year absence. I cannot figure out how to inspect my own items in inventory and the bank.

Got a bunch of items as "gifts" when I logged in but no way to tell if they are better.

An alternative I believe is Alt+Lclick too
